Milton Schwartz is a character in the Lady in the Lake novel and in the adapted television series, of the same name. In the TV series, he is portrayed by Brett Gelman.
Biography[]
Milton is Maddie's husband and Seth's father. He is Jewish and maintains Kosher, along with his family. When Maddie accidentally uses a dairy platter for lamb, Milton's insistence on discarding the meat sparks a major dispute. This argument escalates into a physical struggle during which Maddie breaks a plate and cuts her hand. Maddie leave Milton and their son Seth alone at home after she moves out.
Later, Milton negotiates divorce terms with Maddie, agreeing to cover legal costs if she stops pressuring their son, Seth, to visit her.
